I pray every morning for creative peace. The world is not at peace. The catastrophe in Ukraine, saber rattling with China, the globe seems on the brink of the unthinkable. Domestically, propagandists have driven the population apart simply to gain power in the Empire. But, that’s what all this is about - power.
There is a saying that power corrupts. I think it corrupts in two ways. I think it turns good people evil and I think it corrupts like a computer file is corrupted. It makes shit not work right. We must seriously begin talking about a world without power.
Misogyny is not about gender, it is about power. White supremacy is not about race, it is about power. Capital is not about money, it is about power. To have creative peace, power must be destroyed. When power is destroyed, the Kingdom of Heaven will appear on Earth.
What must be done?
First, a resounding call from the people of Planet Earth to stop the brinksmanship and madness. The American Empire is declining and American leaders are react in the most irrational and paranoid way. There doesn’t have to be one dominant leader of the planet. All of us can share in the bounty and governance of our home world. We must talk to our so-called enemies and share the planet with them. Turn swords to plowshares.
Second, we must recognize that there are thousands of cultures on the planet and that all see things in a different way, sometimes drastically. All cultures must seek to dialogue and learn from other cultures instead of condemning difference at face value. This is especially important in the United States where the cultures have been turned on one another by propagandists.
Finally, we must destroy the nation-state form because it is violent by nature. Enforcement of the nation-state’s laws is done at the barrel of a gun. There is no getting around that the entire planet has adopted the more or less Western form of the nation-state and that we need different kinds of polities not guaranteed by violence.
Creative peace lives in all living beings. It’s time for us to evolve.
Agree with you concerning the absolute corrupting nature power and seeking to control others. However, I do not believe it is practical to think “power” can be destroyed - and especially without violence. The powerful, as a general rule, will not relinquish the power they hold without having it forcibly taken from them. So long as there are humans living in communities, there will be those seeking to seize power and using violence to do so. The only thing I know to be done is to live a life of integrity seeking freedom for all. Each human must seek to be mindful and resist their desire to control others and using whatever influence they have to help others to see how to live outside the current system of win/lose binary thinking. Also, it is up to each person to resist power. This is all best accomplished among a community that helps and supports one another in unyieldingly rejected power and embracing love (ie that which is best for all).
